KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff today denied the rumour about Kenny Goh's resignation as BAM general manager.
Instead, Tengku Mahaleel said he had asked Kenny to go on leave for the moment as he had carried out various tasks since appointed to the post in 2007.
"Kenny has performed his duties well, so I told him to go on leave because we cannot pressure him to reconsider his decision (to resign). He is still holding the post for the moment though," he told reporters after chairing BAM executive council meeting here Saturday.
In another development, Tengku Mahaleel said the national badminton governing body had established cooperation with the National Sports Institute (ISN) to address the injuries problem, which had become rampant among national shuttlers lately.
He said during the recent meeting with ISN's representatives, it was agreed that ISN would help BAM in finding solutions to the issue, which had become a major obstacle for national shuttlers top compete in any tournament.....
