KUANTAN, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- A satisfactory performance. That's what Pahang has demonstrated by winning its first trophy, which has a sentimental connection to the team, in the new season of the Malaysian League competition.
"The trophy has very high sentimental value to me and Pahang supporters because the Sumbangsih Cup belongs to my father.
"This is also the first time a match (in the Sumbangsih Cup) could be held at the Darul Makmur Stadium," said Pahang Football Association president Tengku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ahmad Shah, after Pahang beat Lions X11 1-0 here Friday night.
He said he was also satisfied with the handling of the team by new Tok Gajah squad coach, Ronald Smith in the starting move for the new season with good cooperation shown by the East Coast team.
Abdul Rahman also expressed confidence at the line-up and coach to develop a tighter team cooperation despite experiencing several change of players after winning the Malaysia Cup last season.....
