RLIR: 'Utarid' Wins On Second Day, 'Oi!' Stay At The Top

LANGKAWI, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- The 'Utarid' team of Malaysia won the Racing category on the second day of the 2014 Royal Langkawi International Regatta (RLIR) at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club in Kuah here Wednesday.

Nonetheless, 'Oi' of Australia remained at the top of the category with seven penalty points after two days of racing.

'Utarid' representing the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and skippered by Ishak Jab won the 'West Course Challenge' today with four penalty points beating 'Oi' to second place.

'Utarid' are now in third place overall with 15 penalty points while in second place are 'Uranus', also an RMN team. Uranus have 13 penalty points.

Ishak said his team tried to recover from their errors in the first round yesterday by focusing on committing less mistakes. "We performed better today after having found our rhythm and recovered from the errors made yesterday.....
