NAYPYITAW, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- National paralympian Hemala Devi Enny Kutty not only delivered Malaysia's first gold at the 7th Asean Para Games but also set a new Games Record (GR) here Wednesday.

She secured the gold and set the record in the women's F11/F12 javelin event after throwing a distance of 23.78 metres.

The silver was won by Dayang Nor Hensan of Brunei (15.20m) while the bronze by Jeanette of the Philippines (14.50m).

"This is my best distance yet. Before this it was usually between 21 and 22 metres.

"When I was making the throws, I was not thinking about breaking records. I just wanted to record a personal best," she told Bernama.....
