KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- The roof collapse at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil two days ago has not hindered the preparations of the national squash players for the 'Tournament of Champions' at the Grand Central Terminal in New York.
Squash Rackets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) Honorary secretary Christopher Brodie said despite the roof collapse, the players were still training at the centre, ahead of the tournament from Jan 17 to 24.
"The training of the players has not been affected...the roof at the squash court has not been affected. Only a few areas were affected. Only the floor was wet due to leakage," he told Bernama when contacted Thursday.
A part of the centre's roof was reported to have collapsed on Tuesday.
The centre has not gone through an major upgrading works since it was opened in 1998, ahead of the Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games.....
