KOTA KINABALU, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- Philipppine golfing star and defending champion Antonio Lascuna, ASEAN PGA Tour Order of Merit leader Thailand's Kwanchai Tanni and local hero Nicholas Fung will lead a pack of stars at this year's Sabah Masters, which will kick off at the Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club here from tomorrow until Jan 11.
The trio are among 110 players vying for the coveted title with a total prize money of US$75,000 (RM238,000) up for grabs.
Singapore ace Mardan Mamat, beaten in a play-off by Lascuna last year, Thailand's Wisut Artjanawat, the champion in 2011, and legendary Filipino golfer Frankie Minoza will also take part in the Sabah Masters, dubbed as the grand finale to the 2013/2014 season.
With the winners' cheque worth US$12,187 and the event also determining final placing on the Order of Merit, a stellar field has entered the popular event which is once again supported by the Sabah Tourism Authority.
Meanwhile, Sabah Tourism Board chairman Datuk Johniston Bangkuai told reporters here that this excellent event was important to further promote potential tourism for the Asean market.....
