KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Paralympics Council (MPC) is confident that the Malaysian paralympic contingent to the Asean Para Games in Naypyitaw, Myanmar from Jan 14 to 20, can achieve the 50-gold medal target.
"Our paralympic athletes have never let down our expectations in any major competition. That's why we are confident of achieving the 50-gold target. What is also important is to maintain the third placing finish in the last games," said MPC president Datuk Zainal Abu Zarin.
Zainal who is also the Asian Paralympics Council (APC) president was speaking to reporters after signing a contract between APC and the Incheon Asian Para Games Organising Committee (IAPGOC), here Monday.
APC was represented by its secretary-general R. Malini while Hwang Eui Sik who is also the IAPGOC secretary-general signed on behalf of the organising committee and witnessed by the IAPGOC International Department director Woo Hee Chang.
Zainal said all the Myanmar bound athletes had checked into the centralised training camp in Putrajaya, yesterday as training enters the final phase.....
