KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 5 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Football Association (TFA) has been urged to rejuvenate the football leagues in the state as the competition has been slowly disappearing from the radar.
Terengganu Sports Council director Zainal Abidin Hussin said the state's own league which involves seven districts would slowly but surely die a natural death if steps are not taken to inject new blood.
"We as the 'agent' for sports development in the state, are ready to offer any assistance to revive the local league," he told Bernama here Sunday.
He added that a strong state league would help unearth talented players at the grassroots level and be groomed to takeover at the state level or even national level.
"We are prepared to assist in the organisation of a local league for various divisions or age group tournaments, starting next year. We will put forward a proposal to TFA so that it can be implemented soon," he said.....
