NAYPYITAW, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Although suffering a fracture in his right hand during his bout, it did not prevent Abdul Hemi Mohd from winning a bronze for the country in taekwondo at the Myanmar SEA Games.

The taekwondo competition at this Games opened at the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium here today.

The 29-year-old who hails from Port Klang suffered the injury from a kick while up against Samuel Thomas Harper Morrison of the Philippines in the semifinals of the men's 74kg category.

He was behind 6-10 on points then and although in pain, fought the pain barrier as well and went on to finish the bout.

After the medal presentation ceremony, he was rushed to the hospital to get his hand treated.....
