SANDAKAN, March 2 (Bernama) -- Incumbent Elopura assemblyman, Datuk Au Kam Wah is expected to give way to a younger leader to contest on Barisan Nasional ticket in the coming 14th general election (GE14).
Among those mentioned to replace him is Elopura community development officer (PPM), Chan Tzun Hei, 35, who is also Sabah Gerakan deputy youth chief.
This was further strengthened when Au, 55, expressed his desire not to contest in GE14 in an event here in December last year to give way to potential young leaders the opportunity to emerge.
Au who began his political career in 1985 when he was 22 years old, has been occupying the Elopura state seat since 2004 for three terms.
It was learned he had informed Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong and Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman of his intention.....
