SEREMBAN, March 1 (Bernama) -- Almost the entire manifesto presented by Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the 14th General Election (GE14) is copied from the policies implemented by the state Barisan Nasional (BN) government.
Jelebu BN chairman Datuk Jalaluddin Alias said the promises bandied by PH were populist in nature and meant to make the people think they were a better government than the present one.
"Like their promise not to increase land and assessment taxes for five years, we in Negeri Sembilan has never increased the land and assessment taxes since Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan took over the government nine years ago.
"Their promise to limit the menteri besar's post to two terms, I do not know if they can do that or not as in the states they rule like Penang, that policy is not in place," he told Bernama here.
Jalaluddin who is Pertang state assemblyman and chairman of the State Action Committee for Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government, was commenting on the manifesto by Negeri Sembilan PH which included increasing the yearly allocation for Islamic affairs, creating a special RM500,000 allocation to strengthen the state's customs, Adat Perpatih and introducing a special fund for non-Muslim bodies.....
