Oxford Trained Engineer Appointed IWK's Chief Operating Officer

KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd has recently announced the appointment of Ir Mohamed Haniffa Hj. Abdul Hamid as its Chief Operating Officer effective 1st April 2013 to oversee the effective and efficient operations of its core service provision. Ir Haniffa's main task is also to assist the Chief Executive Officer to strengthen the national sewerage's operations focusing especially on the technical aspects.


Ir Haniffa is a professional engineer who obtained his degree and Masters in Engineering from Glasgow, Scotland. As a former City Hall Kuala Lumpur scholar, he served the City Hall as a Municipal Engineer for 13 years before joining IWK via the nationwide privatisation exercise in 1994. He has served IWK in many different capacities over the years under various management and shareholders and was IWK's General Manager for Planning & Engineering for the past 12 years. Ir Haniffa is also the first recipient of the prestigious British High Commissioner Award to undergo an advanced management training programme in Oxford University's Templeton College in 1997.
