KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (AMB) has partnered with eight national athletes as they prepare for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, scheduled from Dec 9 to 20.

The athletes include world mixed doubles badminton champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, along with six track-and-field competitors, namely sprinter Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli, 800m runner Wan Muhammad Fazri Wan Zahari, discus thrower Queenie Ting Kung Ni, shot putter Jonah Chang Rigan, javelin thrower Ng Jing Xuan, and 10,000m runner Sanjay Manimaran.

AMB Deputy Senior General Manager for Food Service and Marketing, Lee Soon Howe, said the collaboration is delivered through the company’s Winning Meals Kachimeshi sports nutrition programme, which runs from October to December this year.

She said the programme provides athletes with customised, balanced nutrition plans crafted by professional sports dietitians to support their training needs and optimise performance.

“We can see that these eight athletes are very disciplined, have great potential and can deliver great performance in either national or international games.

“Hopefully, with this programme, we can contribute more to the development of the sports industry in Malaysia with our sports nutrition through the Winning Meals Kachimeshi,” she said during an engagement session with the athletes today.

Lee said that Ajinomoto, a gold sponsor of the 2025 SEA Games and 2025 ASEAN Para Games, also hopes to expand collaborations with national athletes in the future.

The nutrition plans also include aminoVITAL, a BCAA-enriched formulation designed to boost performance, strengthen muscle endurance, reduce fatigue and support faster recovery during intensive training.

The Winning Meals Kachimeshi remains a core initiative of the Ajinomoto Group in providing balanced and tasty meals to support athletes through high-performance training and major competitions.

Badminton ace Toh Ee Wei expressed appreciation for AMB’s support, saying the nutritional backing will help elevate her on-court performance, while runner Wan Muhammad Fazri said the nutrition products have improved his running quality and consistency as he trains for the 2025 SEA Games.
