KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 -- Twenty Malaysian companies will participate at the world-renowned Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference 2019 (ADIPEC 2019) through the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation's (MATRADE) Export Acceleration Mission to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from Nov 11 to 14.
The strong participation of Malaysian companies indicates Malaysian companies’ interest in growing their export footprint in the West Asia region despite various global economic challenges, MATRADE said in a statement today.
The national trade promotion agency has been organising Malaysia’s participation in ADIPEC since 2010.
MATRADE said the Malaysian Pavilion at ADIPEC 2019 will promote various oil and gas (O&G) products and services such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning product, industrial engineering software, and oil and gas upstream exploration and production consultancy services.
“It is critical for Malaysia to continue growing its visibility in signature events to strengthen Malaysia’s brand as a leading player in the global O&G sector,” MATRADE director of oil & gas, chemical and energy section, S. Jai Shankar, said.
He pointed out that MATRADE therefore encourages the Malaysian companies to be involved in other value-added activities held during the event, such as conferences.
Total export of O&G products between Malaysia and the UAE surged to RM832.5 million last year compared to RM251.4 million in 2017.
