18 racing teams confirm participation in 2019 Tour de Singkarak in Indonesia

JAKARTA, Oct 31 -- About 100 cyclists of 18 teams from local and abroad will compete in the 2019 Tour de Singkarak in Indonesia next month, Xinhua news agency reported quoting two officials on Wednesday.
More than 20 countries involve in the international sport event which is slated to be held from Nov 1 to 10 in two provinces, West Sumatra province and Jambi province, head of tourism department of Jambi province Ujang Hariyadi revealed.
The race will hold nine stages with a total distance of 1,263 kilometers, according to spokesman of administration of the province Johansyah.
The racers will take start at Pariaman district of West Sumatra province and finish in the provincial capital of Padang, he said.
"We hail this sport event. As two stages of the race will finally pass Jambi province,"said Johansyah.
He said that the province offers various of tourism destinations and scenery along the route to the racers.
The sport event offers a 151,140 US dollars prize in total, according to media.
The international Tour de Singkarak cycling sport event is sanctioned by world's governing body for cycling sport, UCI (Union Cyclist Internationale.
