IPOH, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- The haze today forced the cancellation of 12 out of 14 flights scheduled to arrive and depart the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport.
LTSAS manager Mohd Ali Osman said the cancelled flights included the Johor Bahru-Ipoh-Singapore and Singapore-Ipoh-Johor Bahru routes of Air Asia, the Johor Bahru-Ipoh-Johor Bahru route of Malindo Air, as well as the Singapore-Ipoh- Singapore route of FlyScoot.
“The visibility is 2,500 metres as at 6 pm," he said in a statement.
He said 1,509 passengers were affected by the cancellation.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, four stations in Perak namely Seri Manjung; Pegoh, Ipoh; Tasek, Ipoh and Taiping recorded unhealthy API readings as at 8 pm.
An API between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; 51 and 100, moderate; 101 and 200, unhealthy; 201 and 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
