KLANG, Sept 11 -- Police arrested two men and seized drugs, believed to be heroin worth RM85,866, after stopping a car driven in a suspicious manner in the town centre here yesterday.
North Klang district police chief ACP Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh said the incident occurred about 2.20 pm when a police patrol car ordered a Proton Wira car to stop after finding it being driven in a suspicious manner.
However, the driver of the Proton Wira car sped away and police gave chase right up to Batu 10, Jalan Kapar here.
While the chase was on, the passenger in the rear seat was seen throwing out two plastic bags, which were later found to contain 14 small transparent plastic packets filled with heroin weighing 6.4kg, Nurulhuda told a media conference here today.
She said the two men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested after police stopped the car.
Both had previous records and one of them tested positive for drugs, he added.
In another development, Nurulhuda said a 31-year-old despatch rider was arrested yesterday for allegedly making a false police report over the loss of RM16,000.
He claimed to have lost the money after being robbed by two men at an eatery in Jalan Paip here, she said, adding that it was later found that the man had lost the money from online gambling.
