SEREMBAN, Aug 21 -- Police deny that the Jalur Gemilang was raised upside down at the Seremban district police headquarters (DPH), saying it was an old picture being re-circulated on social media by unscrupulous parties.
Seremban police chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim warned today that police could initiate action against those who circulate the picture, which has been going viral on social media since yesterday..
“The incident is believed to have occurred in 2016 as result of a technical error. However, it was resolved and corrected immediately then.
“I warn that anyone who raises the issue can be subject to action under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Act as well as other relevant laws," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
He said police were looking for those who were responsible for re-circulating the image and action would be taken based on legal provisions.
