KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- PJ City FC are all set to atone for their last defeat and regain their winning touch when they entertain Perak in a crucial Super League clash on Friday at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya.
The confidence of the Phoenix squad has been boosted by the intensive preparations they made after the short Hari Raya break, with the team looking very fit and eager to go into action against the Seladang.
Coach K. Devan said the players had given their assurance to raise their game and take up the challenge to finish in the top six of the Super League.
He said the Phoenix would be looking to get over the setback of the 3-0 away loss to PKNS on May 25 after securing three consecutive wins earlier.
“The loss against PKNS was a wake-up call. They are all eager to bounce back and make amends against Perak. The best way is to be focused on the next two home matches at the moment.
“We have two big opportunities; this match (against Perak), and when we play the next match against Felda. My boys are all eager, very determined, and we will be fighting for victory until the last minute of every match. As far as I am concerned both our next two home fixtures are big games for us,” he said in a statement today.
He added that a win for the Phoenix on Friday would see the team moving up the league with 20 points.
With only one point separating PJ City and Perak in the league (Perak – 8th with 18 points; PJ City – 9th, 17 points), the match on Friday will be crucial for both teams.
