JOHOR BAHRU, April 12 (Bernama) -- Datuk Osman Sapian is expected to have an audience with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar tomorrow morning regarding his resignation as the Johor Menteri Besar.
This was confirmed by the Press Secretary to the Johor Menteri Besar, Abdul Hakim Abdul Rahman to Bernama today.
Meanwhile, when approached by reporters after declaring open a restaurant here, Osman said technically he was still the Johor Menteri Besar.
"Technically I am still the Menteri Besar. Wait till after I have an audience with Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar,” he said.
Asked on his successor, Osman who is also Chairman of the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) for Johor, said he left the matter to party President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to decide.
Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had earlier confirmed that he had received Osman's resignation letter effective last Monday.
Osman, 67, the 16th Menteri Besar of Johor is believed to be serving the shortest term of service which was less than 11 months after taking the oath of office on May 12 last year following the victory of Pakatan Harapan in the 14th General Election.
