KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) and Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) today launched the revised Takaful Basic Examination (TBE).
TBE is the licensed-to-practise certification for Takaful agents.
The launching was officiated by MTA Management Committee deputy chairman and chief executive officer of AIA Public Takaful Berhad, Elmie Aman Najas.
The revised version was published on Sept 15, 2018.
MTA in a statement today said that IBFIM, as the TBE administrator since 2012, and MTA had embarked on the initiative to review the TBE contents from January 2017 to May 2018 to ensure that it was updated in line with the regulatory requirements, guidelines and current practices of the Takaful industry.
Over the last six years, a total of 106,057 candidates had completed the TBE with an overall passing rate of 68 per cent.
TBE is a fully-computerised examination conducted at 21 examination centres nationwide and is currently available in both Bahasa Melayu and English version.
It will be made available in Mandarin in January 2019.
As of Sept 23 this year, 897 candidates have registered for the TBE nationwide.
