Strong quake hits Fiji islands

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) – A strong earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale hit Fiji Islands at 8.55 am today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorology Department, the epicentre of the earth quake was 361 kilometre east of Laucala, Fiji.
However, the quake did not pose a tsunami threat.
