KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia Berhad (Pos Malaysia) will be issuing its fourth series of 'Medicinal Plants' stamps and philately on Thursday.
Pos Malaysia Stamps and Philately Unit head Diyana Lean Abdullah said the series would feature three types of medicinal plants, namely Jering (Archidendron pauciflorum), Putat (Barringtonia racemosa), and Engkalak (Litsea garciae).
"The miniature sheet of the stamp series will feature Petai (Parkia speciosa). In line with the medicinal plant theme, a combination of Putat, Jering, Engkalak and Petai images will be used for the postmark of the special series," she told reporters here today.
Diyana Lean said the stamps measuring 40mm x 30mm could be obtained in three denominations, namely RM0.60 for those featuring Jering, RM0.80 (Putat) and RM1.00 (Engkalak), while the miniature sheets measuring 80mm x 80mm would be priced at RM3 each.
"Besides the stamp series, other philatelic items such as First Day Covers with free brochure will also be available for RM0.55 each and the folder is priced at RM6.35 each," she said, adding, the complete set cost RM67.20 each.
Pos Malaysia has also issued specially designed greeting stamps in conjunction with Mother's Day and Teacher's Day, which are available only till June 30.
