CYBERJAYA, April 18 (Bernama) -- Multimedia University (MMU) has become the first university in Malaysia to collaborate with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) under the Malaysia ICT Volunteer (MIV) programme.
A total of 50 MMU students have signed up as volunteers for the programme to help elevate the digital literacy development among local community in Selangor and Melaka.
MCMC Chairman Tan Sri Dr Halim Shafie when officiating the launch of MIV@MMU programme here today, said MMU's involvement in the MIV programme would set a benchmark for other universities to follow suit.
"This programme will also benefit our volunteers as they can use this opportunity to develop their interpersonal competency and self-esteem while doing the volunteering work," he said.
The voluntary programme will kick start with volunteers' workshop from April 20 to 22, and the volunteers are expected to engage with the local community in the following week until early June 2018.....
