KUCHING, March 8 (Bernama) -- A privately initiated Digital Economy Hub (DEH), a centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education and commercial applications at OneJaya Mall, Jalan Song here will be officially launched tomorrow.
Fame International Group (FIG) chief executive officer (CEO) who is also DEH's CEO Eddie Wee said the centre provides a platform for all young talented manufacturers and innovators in Sarawak to learn, collaborate and assist industries to go digital.
Wee said DEH is a project initiated by FIG inline with the Sarawak state government's drive in digital economy transformation and industrial 4.0 revolution worldwide, but said they did not get any funding from the government.
He said DEH provides courses and products for children, teens to working adults, adding that with 1,022 square meter area of full Wifi coverage and high speed fiber backbone DEH is the most conducive centre with contemporary technology demonstration and experiencing gallery, 3D printing lab, makers lab, fabrication lab, training area, robotics and courses, virtual reality (VR) studio and creative studio to cultivate and nurture more digital talents for the digital economy.
"The objectives of setting up DEH which is the only one offering robotics programme in Asean countries was to boost digital economy in Sarawak," Wee told reporters after a tour by five Asean ambassadors to DEH today.....
