KANGAR, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- This year, the Perlis Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will emphasise on three key aspects close to heart of the people in its strategy to curb corrupt practices involving civil servants.
They are enforcement, licensing and procurement by government departments and agencies, including the local authorities.
Incoming state MACC director, SAC Mohd Shukor Mahmud said the emphasis on these three aspects was important to seal any space or opportunity for corrupt practices involving civil servants and the public or other stakeholders, to occur.
"This effort also involves education and awareness among the public and students. We will hold programmes such as GERAH 2018 to get closer to the community, and for them to better understand the role of the MACC," he said.
Mohd Shukor was speaking to the media after taking over as the new state MACC director from Yaacop Angah during a handing-over of duties ceremony at the Perlis MACC headquarters here today. Yaacop retired yesterday.....
