JAKARTA, Feb 13 (Bernama) -- Indonesian Vice-President Jusuf Kalla will not be joining forces with President Joko Widodo in the 2019 presidential elections (Pilpres).
"I am taking into account my age, I leave it to the young," he was quoted as saying in a report by ANTARA news agency today.
Jusuf, 76, was appointed vice-president on Oct 20, 2014 and had also served as deputy to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (2004-2009).
The Indonesian online media still sees the Jokowi-Jusuf team as the best, but under the Indonesian Constitution, the president and presidential representative can only serve for a maximum of two terms.
According to political observers in Indonesia, Jusuf was no longer eligible unless if he stands for the post of president.....
