KUANTAN, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- The opening of another service centre for the Special Implementation Task Force (SITF), in Sabai, Bentong, yesterday clearly proves that the Barisan Nasional (BN) government always strives to help resolve issues concerning the Indian community in the country.
The centre in Sabai is the 11th in the country and the first in Pahang.
SITF is set up under the Cabinet Committee on Indian Community Affairs and overseen by the Prime Minister's Department to address problems of citizenship, which is among the main issues plaguing the Indian community.
So far, 7,000 issues related to MyDaftar services (identity cards, births, citizenship) have been resolved, and 4,000 applications are under review.
There is also no longer any notion of being sidelined, as the service centre also provides job placement services, as well as assistance for welfare, education, housing, health and loans to enhance the economic and social status of the Indian community.....
