KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 (Bernama) -- Kedah attacking midfielder, Liridon Krasniqi will stay will the Red Eagles squad this season despite rumours linking him with a move to a French Ligue One club.
Kedah head coach, Ramon Marcote said that the 26-year-old Kosovo player who is currently on holiday with his family, will join his teammates in Surabaya, Indonesia as Kedah take part in the inaugural Suramadu Super Cup Football Tournament from Jan 8-12 at the Gelora Bengkalan Stadium in East Java.
"He got an offer to go for a trial in the French first division club and we are happy to see him receive such an offer from among the best teams in Europe.
"(However), he is still our player since he is under contract and he will join us in Surabaya on the last day of the tournament," Marcote said in a short video clip posted in the Kedah FA facebook page, today.
An international news portal (subs:www.telegrafi.com) recently claimed that French club side, Angers Sporting Club is reportedly interested to acquire the services of Liridon and is willing to redeem his current contract with Kedah.
Liridon who joined Kedah from Turkish side, Fethiyespor in 2015, showcased a splendid performance with the Northern side last season which saw win the Best Foreign Player and the Most Popular Player Award at the recent 2017 National Football Awards.
