Last update: 11/11/2017
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- The Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) will develop modules to expand an English proficiency programme to 14 schools in seven districts of Sabah in 2018.

The expansion plan had been outlined with the advice from the state Education Department, according to a statement prepared by FINCO and AmBank Group.

It said FINCO recently sponsored the third and final Reading Hunt programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Rampayan in Manggatal, Sabah with the participation of 43 Standard Four pupils.

It served as a pilot project initiated by Soroptimist International Kota Kinabalu (SIKK) with the cooperation of the Sabah Education Department and Sabah State Library to raise English proficiency among school children.

"Volunteers from AmBank, Prudential, Maybank and SIKK assisted teachers in running the activities," the statement said, adding that the Reading Hunt programme was developed by the English teachers of SK Rampayan with support from SIKK volunteers.....
