IIC Strives To Offer More In Demand Programmes

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The 9th Convocation Ceremony of International Islamic College (IIC) on Saturday celebrated 1574 of its graduands from ten diploma programmes and two certificate programmes.

Conferring the diplomas and certificates were Tengku Datuk Hajjah Nong Fatimah Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah and Prof. Datuk Md Tahir Azhar in a ceremony held at the International Islamic University (IIUM) main campus in Gombak near here.

IIC, a subsidiary of IIUM Holding Sdn Bhd, was established in 2001 and to date it has produced more than 8000 graduands from various discplines such as Business Administration, Islamic Finance and Banking, Accounting, Office Management and Secretaryship, Islamic Early Childhood Education, Contemporary Islamic Sciences and Information Technology, among others.

This year's convocation also witnessed IIC's first graduands from its latest diploma programme, Multimedia with Animation, according to its Chief Executive Officer, Shamsul Kahar Haron.

Speaking at the press conference after the ceremony, IIC's Chairman Datuk Seri Syed Hussien Abdul Kadir Al-Habshee said when asked on IIC future planning, "We would like to offer more courses that are suitable with today's demands for example we would like to work together with Jakim for us to offer a diploma programme in Halal certification. We would also like to increase international students' enrolment to 30 per cent next year."

The overall award achiever was awarded to Nur Anasuha Sahadan from the Diploma of Islamic Early Childhood Education with a CGPA of 3.9, meanwhile Mohammad Naimullah Abdullah from the same dioloma programme received the Co-Curricular Activities Excellence award.....
