PETALING JAYA (Bernama) -- Lack of civic consciousness is not the sole culprit for the indiscriminate disposal of garbage by some low-cost flat dwellers.

"Others have said that their (flat dwellers') abominable attitude is due to a lack of civic consciousness but, in reality, there are other factors as well that contribute to the problem," Fatimah, who is also Malaysian Population Development Society president, told Bernama in an interview, recently.
The former anthropology and sociology lecturer, who taught at Universiti Malaya and later at the International Islamic University Malaysia before she retired in 2016, said the problem has to be resolved in a holistic manner and not in a piecemeal way.....
