GOVERNMENT CONSOLIDATING DATA ON ENTREPRENEUR SECTOR
KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 (Bernama) -- The government is in the midst of consolidating data on the entrepreneurial sector to better serve the industry.
Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof said the move is part of the National Entrepreneurship Policy 2030 action plan.
Currently, there are 14 ministries and 60 government agencies with entrepreneurship segments.
"Data on the sector is spread all around the ministries and by consolidating them, we will be able to become more focused," he told reporters after launching the Hatchery Zone at the International Retail and Franchise exhibition (MIRF) here today.
Ministry secretary-general Wan Suraya Wan Mohd Radzi said the consolidation of the industry's data will also help the government in planning the development of the entrepreneurial sector under the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025).
The Hatchery Zone is an incubator trade initiative for startups by the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) which aims to assist in the development of new retail businesses.
It provides an avenue for startups to exhibit their products and services to the market.
MRCA president Datuk Seri Garry Chua said he hopes the initiative will be able to assist in the growth and development of the retail and franchise industries.
