FUTURE OF CYBERSECURITY CONFERENCE EXPLORES DIGITAL ECONOMY CONCERNS

KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- The Future of Cybersecurity Conference today saw over 300 information security executives from the private sector and the government gathering to address digital economy concerns.

Organised by the National Tech Association of Malaysia’s (PIKOM), the conference covered topics such as disruptions in innovation, 5G revolution, modern trends in dealing with cyberthreats and business security. 

In a statement today, PIKOM said notable speakers from local and abroad also discussed some of the major techniques leveraged by attackers, such as IP spoofing, SSDP and Memcashed.

“As PIKOM represents the country’s tech industry, it is only appropriate that we play an active role in addressing the challenges as well as opportunities related to cybersecurity,” said PIKOM executive chairman, Ganesh Kumar Bangah.

The one-day conference was officiated by Datuk Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab, chief executive officer of Cybersecurity Malaysia.

During the conference, notable international experts, including James Ball, Cloudflare Inc’s head of Solutions Engineering also demonstrated the increasing complexity of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and the preventive measures to secure all Internet applications.
