24/05/2019 02:35 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) --  Sime Darby Plantation Bhd (SDP) today said the Melaka High Court has granted the company leave to commence judicial review on compulsory acquisition of its Melaka land as wrongful and void.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, SDP said the court had also granted a stay of all further proceedings in the land acquisition.

“Consequently, the land shall remain with the company until the final disposal of the judicial review,” it said.

SDP said it would make further announcements on any material development on the matter from time to time.

To recap, SDP has on April 29, 2019, commenced judicial review against Pengarah Tanah dan Galian Negeri Melaka, Pentadbir Tanah Daerah Jasin, the State Government of Melaka and GI A Resources Sdn Bhd, for wrongfully initiating compulsory acquisition of its 75.07 hectares land in Jasin, Melaka.
