PERAK GOVERNMENT TO EXPEDITE AEL ENGINEERING'S APPLICATION FOR LAND

19/11/2018 08:45 PM

PARIT BUNTAR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- The Perak state government will help expedite the application from AEL Engineering Sdn Bhd to lease and develop part of a one-hectare land here owned by the Federal government to enable the company to expand its operations.

Investment, Industry and Regional Development Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin said AEL Engineering, which is under Singapore’s Interplex Group of companies, had made an application on Oct 31, 2018 to procure land to use as a store and parking area, among others, as its existing area was limited.

He said the company, which produces automotive components, medical devices and computer racks for export, was expected to invest up to RM25 million over five years to expand its operations.

"The state government will assist in expediting the application process because the company would provide 60 new jobs, and subsequently generate revenue for the state government.

"At present, the application is being processed, taking into consideration matters that must be fulfilled as conditions for approval," he told the media after visiting the company’s factory at the Parit Buntar Industrial Area here, today.

Elaborating further, Mohammad Nizar said the state’s Land and Mines Department is in the midst of processing the application, and if approved, the land would be leased to the company for 21 years.
