AXA OFFERS PROTECTION PLAN TO E-HAILING DRIVER
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 21 (Bernama) -- AXA Affin General Insurance Bhd (AAGI) now offers AXA SmartDrive – Sharing, a motor insurance add-on that provides e-hailing drivers with 24/7 comprehensive protection, whether they are using their vehicle for e-hailing services or private usage.
The plan covers loss or damage to driver’s vehicle, liability to third party, legal liability to/of passenger and driver’s personal accident of up to RM10,000.
According to statistics, Malaysia has one of the highest accident and fatality rates in the region with 533,875 accidents recorded in 2017, which was an increase of 2.4% from 521,466 accidents in 2016.
Without insurance cover, in the event of an accident, e-hailing drivers are exposed to risks and potential claims by their passengers.
“The demand for e-hailing driver’s and passenger’s protection in Malaysia is increasing. We hope to do our part by raising awareness and ensuring adequate protection is provided to the drivers and their passengers,” said AAGI chief executive officer, Emmanuel Nivet.
