KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) has appointed Novie Tajuddin as chief executive officer (CEO), effective April 2, 2018, succeeding Foo Yoke Pin.
In a statement here today, the home-grown professional accounting body said Novie was previously the chief operating officer of Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), an agency under the Ministry of Higher Education.
Novie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from De Montfort University, United Kingdom, and is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
He was quoted as saying: "MICPA is a brand known for its technical excellence, quality and prestige, and I am proud to be part of its journey moving forward."
"As someone from the profession, I've seen how MICPA has grown in leaps and bounds over the past decade, especially with the partnership we have forged with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and conducting the joint MICPA-CAANZ Programme.
"I'm excited to take MICPA and its brand further - to have a Malaysian professional body become the membership of choice not just for Malaysians, but for accounting professionals worldwide."
