KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 -- SME Bank has started its venture in the digital era by opening up the registration for SME Bank Y-Biz Challenge 2018 via online platform in order to provide an easier way for students, teachers and schools to participate.

The online registration was opened to public since 15 Dec, 2017 and it has received a total of 118 registrations where 50 per cent are registrations from new schools, it said in a statement.

"Starting from its launching in 2012 until 2016, SME Bank Y-Biz Challenge has managed to attract participations from 409 schools that involved 1,344 students and 424 teachers.

The quality of participations has improved tremendously and some of the schools have started to market their products," said Chief Operating Officer, Operations and Group Corporate Management of SME Bank Datuk Razman Mohd Noor in the statement.

SME Bank Y-Biz Challenge 2018 offers a total prize of RM91,000 while the champion will also bring home five flight tickets worth RM25,000 that will encourage them to participate in an international competition.
