PUTRAJAYA, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- The government has approved loans of RM107 million through Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Bhd (Kojadi) to 588 Chinese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country since 2016, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
"Kojadi disbursed loans of RM97.14 million to 544 Chinese SMEs since 2016. I think at least another RM 50 million would be disbursed to other SMEs this year.
"The government hopes the loans will further help these SMEs who need funding," he told a media conference after chairing the secretariat of the Advancement of Malaysian Entrepreneurs Advisory Board Meeting at Menara Usahawan, here today.
Applicants aged between 21 and 60, and operating SME businesses that need funds would be considered for loans of between RM50,000 and RM250,000 with a five-year maximum repayment period.
Meanwhile, Wee said the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on the stamp duty waiver for shares of mid- and small-cap companies trading on Bursa Malaysia effective this March for three years, has been well received.....
