KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- Nasdaq Inc will be relocating its global headquarters from downtown Manhattan to its current Nasdaq MarketSite location at The Durst Organisation's 4 Times Square and scheduled for completion in December 2021.
The deal with The Durst Organisation more than quintuples Nasdaq's existing footprint at the property.
"The 10th floor of the building will be home to a state-of-the-art event space as an extension of the Nasdaq MarketSite.
"It will feature a 2,100 square feet outdoor terrace overlooking Times Square, above the Nasdaq Tower for clients and prospects with the capacity to host more than 400 people for corporate events.
"The 15 years of lease is for 145,000 square feet and includes an extension of the current 24,000 square feet of Nasdaq MarketSite," Nasdaq said in a statement.
Nasdaq president and chief executive officer, Adena Friedman said bringing together its New York employees to the new global headquarters would allow them to focus on the client experience, and further collaborate as a team on new and innovative solutions that meet their clients' most critical needs.
The three-year expansion of Nasdaq MarketSite and relocation initiative will commence construction this summer.
