KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) and the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) have joined forces to enhance the productivity levels of the construction industry through the adoption of modern construction technologies.
In a statement today, CIDB said the initiative was part of its efforts to increase awareness and encourage the construction industry to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0).
Through the partnership, CIDB would be working with MPC to produce industrialised building system (IBS) champions in the construction industry, encourage small and medium enterprise (SME) construction players to utilise the Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and training through MPC's Entrepreneur Productivity Enhancement Scheme.
The productivity levels in the construction industry would also be measured through MPC's e-Productivity Gain Measurement (PGM) Tool.
CIDB Chief Executive, Datuk Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid said the local construction industry landscape is undergoing rapid growth, with major and complex projects, such as the Mass Rapid Transit project, the Pan-Borneo highway and the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development project in Pengerang, Johor currently being carried out.....
