89 Finalists To Compete In ASEAN Startup Awards

Last update: 29/11/2017
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Eighty-nine finalists from 10 ASEAN countries will be competing in the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards (Rice Bowl) finale on Dec 13, 2017 in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Community (GEC) Summit.

The New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF) said the shortlisted regional startups would have a chance to represent Southeast Asia in the upcoming Global Startup Awards next year.

"The awards recognise outstanding startups that provide home-grown and sustainable solutions for local issues with world class innovations, as well as having the potential to be scalable regionally," it said in a statement.

MyNEF Chief Executive Officer and Rice Bowl Chairman Lilyana Latif said with the awards being the official Southeast Asia circuit for the Global Startup Awards, the brand 'Rice Bowl' has now become synonymous with being a respected platform for locally-grown startup heroes to be given the opportunity for market access, funding and media exposure regionally.

As part of the winners' benefit, myNef is organising a two-day Investor Matching session on Dec 12 and 13 for finalists to be given the opportunity to meet and pitch to investors.....
