PETALING JAYA, Feb 24 -- RHB Islamic Bank Bhd is expecting to disburse at least RM50 million this year to facilitate entrepreneurs development under the Teras Fund programme provided via the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju).
Its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Adissadikin Ali, said the collaboration with Teraju, which started in 2012, had so far disbursed RM200 million as of 2016 from the total fund raised of RM400 million.
"The seed fund for the programme managed by us (RHB Islamic) was RM80 million. But we managed to raise the fund by leveraging on resources to RM400 million, which was five times the size allowed by Teraju," he said.
Adissadikin told reporters this at the signing ceremony with Institut Keusahawan Negara for the collaboration in SME Entrepreneurial Development and Training Programme here today.
