ISLAMABAD, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has approached the relevant authorities for a review of visa policy for foreign tourists to facilitate more tourists to the country from around the world this year, reported Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

Managing Director of PTDC Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said they expected to focus on overseas Pakistanis and foreign tourists in 2018.

"We have requested Civil Aviation to provide places at all international airports in the country to set up Tourism Information Desks," he said.

He said in a written statement that Pakistan was declared a world top travel destination for 2018 by the British Backpacker Society among twenty top travel destinations and this has been a big honour for Pakistan.

He said that PTDC will be also appointing Focal Persons in Pakistan's big cities and Coordinators for Tourism in all tourism generating countries to increase tourist influx to Pakistan, and work as a bridge between tourism departments and tourists.

Abdul Ghafoor said that PTDC also planned on getting hoardings installed at prominent places in important cities including Islamabad the Beautiful Capital of the world and Faisalabad the Industrial city to highlight tourist destinations.
