Malaysia Maintain 166th FIFA World Rankings In Sept

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- Despite a 1-1 draw with 147th ranked Hong Kong in the 2019 Asian Cup Qualifying at Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka on Sept 5, Malaysia remained at the 166th spot in the latest International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) rankings.

The September FIFA World Rankings showed Malaysia under Nelo Vingada maintained last month's position.

Malaysia were ranked 161st in January, 162nd (February), 161st (March), 157th (April), 158th (May), 155th (June) and 167th in July.

The latest position puts the national squad on par with several other developing countries such as Dominican Republic (160th), Mauritius (161st), Puerto Rico (163rd) and Gambia at the 164th spot in the world.

Among ASEAN countries, Malaysia shared the 166th rank with Laos with the Philippines at the 123rd spot, Vietnam (130th), Thailand (137th) , Myanmar (152nd) , Singapore (162nd ) and Harimau Malaya were also ranked 32nd out of 45 countries in Asia.....
