KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- While Malaysia is banking on archery to deliver the first gold medal at the 2017 SEA Games on Wednesday, the chinlone squad is also determined to do the honour for the nation as chinlone events are expected to finish earlier.

The results of three chinlone events are scheduled to be known by noon while the archery compound events will only be completing in the evening.

"We are committed to contribute the first gold medal to the country. We have undergone training in Myanmar and the Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) has also engaged three special coaches to assist the chinlone squad," team coach Mohd Yusoff Abdullah told Bernama.

"One of them, Khin Maung Win is the former Myanmar chief coach," he said.

Chinlone requires players to balance the cane ball according to the discipline based on the category and is played by six players in a circle while points are counted through keeping the ball off the ground.....
