Kota Marudu BN Machineries All Set, Ready For Test Run

KOTA MARUDU, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Kota Marudu Barisan Nasional (BN) has set up its election machinery in all of its 57 polling districts and were ready for a test run.

"We are ready for the 14th general election. All our machineries have been set up - all geared up for the big day," said its chief Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili here today.

Speaking to reporters after chairing the Kota Marudu BN meeting at its headquarters in Langkon here, the Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister disclosed that Kota Marudu parliamentary constituency currently has 45,953 voters from the Dusun, Rungus and Bajau communities.

?Based on the latest census, there are 22, 326 registered voters in Matunggong and 23, 627 voters in Tandek in the electoral roll.

"BN's ultimate mission now is to reclaim Matunggong, defend Tandek and Kota Marudu state seats. We believe the constituents have learned their lessons over the last few years," said Ongkili, who is also acting Parti Bersatu Sabah president and Kota Marudu Member of Parliament.

He stressed that the BN grassroot support had also strengthened over the last four years.

Meanwhile, Kota Marudu UMNO Division Chief Datuk Wetrom Bahanda said UMNO was ready to face the general election and win all seats in Kota Marudu for BN.

"This may be our last meeting in preparation for the election."

"For UMNO, we have also prepared our operation room and if the BN leadership calls for an election any time now, we are all prepared for it," he told Bernama.
