JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- The body of Syzlin Hataman, who was jailed for four years and stranded in Peru's capital since 2010 after being used as a drug mule by an international drug syndicate, is expected to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Tuesday.

Syzlin, 43, from Johor, died at 6.50 pm local time at the Nacional dos de Mayo Hospital in Lima on Oct 7 due to complications of several diseases including asthma and diabetes.

UMNO Welfare Bureau (BIKUM) chairman Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said the woman's body would be repatriated from Lima on a KLM flight and was expected to arrive at the KLIA on Tuesday afternoon before being taken straight away to Tun Hussien Onn Mosque in Larkin near here, for prayers and later to the Kebun Teh Muslim cemetery for burial.

"We pray that all arrangements for her repatriation and funeral that we have made over the past two weeks, will run smoothly. Right now, the matters are being handled by our embassy's representatives in Peru, including sanitising and embalming the body for repatriation."

"BIKUM would also like to thank all quarters involved in the repatriation of the body, including the Wisma Putra, Johor UMNO Liaison Committee and Johor Bahru UMNO division, as we know the process had been quite complicated," he told reporters after meeting Syzlin's aunt, Robiah Abdullah in Larkin Jaya, here today.

Also present were Johor Bahru UMNO chief Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad and Johor Bahru Wanita UMNO Welfare Bureau chairman Faridah Mustafa.....
