Shot In The Arm For BAM As Daihatsu Drive In With RM1.9 Mln Sponsorship

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) received a shot in the arm as Japan's car manufacturer Daihatsu Motor Corporation drove in to sign a USD450,000 (RM1.9 million) sponsorship deal today.

From the total, USD350,000 (RM1.47 million) would be allocated as prize money for the Perodua Masters Malaysia 2018 which is scheduled in January next year at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Daihatsu Motor Co. who have assisted in the development of badminton in Japan, also hope to contribute towards the development of badminton in countries where the car manufacturer had vested interest, especially Indonesia and Malaysia.

The company will also sponsor the Daihatsu Masters Indonesia 2018.

BAM president Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria said through Daihatsu's sponsorship, the Malaysia Masters Grand Prix which offered USD120,000 (RM507,420) as total prize money would be upgraded to the Super Series status offering USD 350,000 (RM1.9 million) as total prize money.....
